WASHINGTON — Sonia Citron and Kiki Iriafen are heading back to the WNBA All-Star Game. The Washington Mystics duo was named to the 2026 AT&T WNBA All-Star Game as reserves on Tuesday, selected by the league’s 15 head coaches after neither cracked the starting lineup in fan, player and media voting.

Citron and Iriafen are the first pair of teammates to make consecutive All-Star Games in their first two professional seasons since Shannon Johnson, Taj McWilliams-Franklin and Nykesha Sales did it for the 1999 Orlando Miracle. Both were top-five picks in the 2025 WNBA Draft — Citron at No. 3, Iriafen at No. 4 — and both made the 2025 All-Rookie Team before following it up with All-Star selections a year later.
Citron, a 6-foot-1 guard, is having a career year, averaging 18.6 points, 4.1 rebounds and 3.5 assists while shooting 47.7% from the field — all career highs — and picked up Eastern Conference Player of the Week and AP Player of the Week honors for the week of June 15-21. Iriafen, a 6-foot-3 forward, has been just as steady inside, averaging 15.3 points and 9.2 rebounds per game (sixth-most in the league) on 52.4% shooting with eight double-doubles, and became the fastest player in Mystics history — and the ninth-fastest in WNBA history — to reach 500 career rebounds.

The 2026 AT&T WNBA All-Star Game tips off Saturday, July 25 at the United Center in Chicago as part of the league’s 30th-season celebration, with legends Cynthia Cooper and Teresa Weatherspoon serving as honorary general managers drafting Team Cooper and Team Weatherspoon from the pool of All-Stars. Washington sits at 10-10 on the season, with both Citron and Iriafen set to represent the Mystics on the league’s midseason stage in Chicago.
